Frequently asked questions
What is The Forked Tower: Magic in FFXIV?+
The Forked Tower: Magic is a 48-player Field Raid introduced in Patch 7.55 within the Occult Crescent: North Horn field operation zone. It features four boss encounters culminating in Omniscient Obscurant: The Index, and comes in two difficulties: Normal, designed for random groups with no resurrection restrictions, and Extreme, which requires a premade alliance and limited resurrection stacks. Knowledge Level 40 and a specific North Horn unlock quest are required for both. FFXIV Forked Tower Magic Boosting service at Overgear covers Normal and Extreme in a single piloted session with all loot and achievements kept.
What is the difference between Normal and Extreme difficulty?+
Normal mode is the accessible version — up to 48 players can enter via the aetherial node during Auroral Mirage weather, no premade group is required, and there are no resurrection restrictions. It also advances story progress if the relevant quest is at the appropriate stage.
Extreme is significantly harder: it requires a premade alliance of at least 12 players across three parties, starts with a 15-minute timer that only extends through active progress by defeating bosses, and applies a stack-based resurrection debuff that limits how many times each player can be revived. Once stacks reach zero, that player cannot be resurrected for the remainder of the run. FFXIV Forked Tower Magic Boost at Overgear covers both difficulties.
What rewards do you get from The Forked Tower: Magic?+
Completing the Forked Tower: Magic earns personal loot from silver and gold coffers throughout the raid, Arcane Amulets exchangeable for items at the North Horn Expedition Antiquarian, Enlightenment Silver Obols, Phantom Job EXP, and Allagan Tomestones. All loot is personal — each player claims their own coffers with no roll system or shared distribution. Achievements tied to clearing conditions are also unlocked during the run.
Buy FFXIV Forked Tower Magic service at Overgear delivers every piece of loot earned during the session directly to your account.
How do you unlock The Forked Tower: Magic in FFXIV?+
Two prerequisites are required: Knowledge Level 40 and completion of the quest "In the Shadow of the Tower," available from NPC Ketenramm in the North Horn base camp after reaching level 40. The Extreme version has a separate unlock quest also available on North Horn. Both also require access to Occult Crescent: North Horn itself, which opens through the quest "Occult Reunion" after completing "Mysteries Abide" on South Horn. FF14 Forked Tower Magic Carry at Overgear includes North Horn unlock and Knowledge Level 40 as available options if either prerequisite has not yet been met.
